Located at Rest Acres Road and Highway 403, Orlando Corporation is known for its huge presence in the GTA and holds the largest land purchase so far in 2023. What does this mean for Brantford and Brant County?
Last listed for $190 Million by Vicano Construction. Orlando Corporation has purchased 350.4 Acres of land in Brant County with the official plan designed to add employment use and Industrial Commercial Use.
The Official Plan has this parcel of land sectioned into phases, with Phase 1 being about 80 Acres on Rest Acres Road. The goal is to add the second phase behind this parcel into the Offical Plan but must be "adopted" by the province.
Reports share that Orlando would like to begin construction in 2023, with the plan to finish Phase 1 in late 2024 or early 2025. Orlando plans to successfully occupy and lease the first phase before begining the second. Orlando believes that to fill the entire site and finish would be 15-20 years until full completion. Plans to build two spec-built building that will be approx. 400,000sqft each that are planned to be finished in Phane 1.
What does this mean for Brantford and Brant County. More jobs, higher demand from major corporations due to easy highway access for manufacturing and shipping through Highway 403 along with Highway 401 access.
A big motivator is Brant County is expected to generate $50 Million in Development charges for this project.
